CHECK THE FERRY SCHEDULE before making plans to visit this swing, it does require a ferry ride over to the island. We thought 4:30 meant the last ferry TO the Island but it is only for those who are staying on the island. Austin and I got lucky as we were able to catch the last ferry ride over to the island and quickly snap some photos which they picked up the last group of visitors and employees. The Island is beautiful and historical as it the location where Aaron Burr (you know the one, he shot and killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel... Aaron Burr Sir... get it a Hamilton reference) and Harman Blennerhassett allegedly plotted treason, although not enough evidence was found to prosecute. Upon arriving on the island, you will see the beautiful mansion and to the left surrounded by trees is the Almost Heaven Swing.
