Self-Proclaimed Queen of the Almost Heaven Swings

Hi, I’m Lauren — just your average Almost Heaven Swing chaser.

I created Almost Heaven Swing Adventures to help fellow swing chasers locate the Almost Heaven swings across West Virginia. What started as a fun adventure quickly turned into a passion for exploring our beautiful state and sharing these hidden gems with others.

Just a quick note — I am NOT affiliated with West Virginia Tourism and I am not in charge of the swings or their installations. I’m simply a swing enthusiast who loves discovering new locations, sharing tips, documenting accessibility and views, and helping others experience the beauty of Almost Heaven.

Beech Fork Lake | Wayne County

DO NOT GO TO BEECH FORK STATE PARK - Be sure to use the address: 3784 Beech Fork Road, Lavalette, WV. Park at the Beech Fork Lake Visitor Center parking lot, then walk a short distance back along the road to the Rock Hollow trailhead (left from the parking lot and across the road). Installed late May 2026 - Follow GPS to Cedar Creek State Park, 2947 Cedar Creek, Glenville, WV 26351, you will be taken to the lake where you will find paddle boats and immediately see the swing on your right next to the park offices. Newest swing installed for the 2026 season, making number 53 for the almost heaven swing count! This swing was easy to find and, in my opinion, easy to access. The swing is located between 50 S Main St and 145 S Grove St (just passed Walgreens and before Carquest). James Rumsey Monument Park | Jefferson County | Sheperdstown

Follow GPS to 208 Rumsey Monument Rd where you will see meter parking on the right hand side but you can continue into the park where you will immediately see the swing with several parking options. This new swing is located next to the Rumsey Monument in honor of James Rumsey who was the inventor of the steamboat. Calhoun County 1982 Foundation

Follow GPS to Saundra Johnson Aquatic Center (101 School St., Grantsville), you will see a gravel parking lot with a paved path leading you directly to the swing - the swing is located next to/behind the baseball field/dugout. The paved path does have a slight angle, but I would consider this swing handicap accessible. North Bend State Park | Ritchie County

Follow GPS to North Bend State Park, once you have entered the park grounds be on the lookout for Jughandle Day Use Area, you will pull into the Jughandle and immediately see the swing and some gravel parking options. Pleasants County Park - Lovers' Falls

Follow GPS to Pleasants County Park (605 Cherry St, St. Marys) once you have entered the park you will drive past the baseball field and pool and the swing is located on the backside of the park at Lovers' Falls. Wetzel County 4H Campground

Follow GPS to 96 Mollahan Dr, New Martinsville, WV, there you will find two cabins and small public parking area. Once parked follow the Cardinal Trail until it becomes the Monarch Trail, it is exactly 0.61 miles to the swing. Wellsburg River Front | Brooke County

Installed in October 2025, Brooke County gets their very own Almost Heaven Swing. Located across the stress from the Brooke County Judicial Center, you can easily use GPS to 620 Main St. Wellsburg, WV and you will find the swing and plenty of street parking.
