Lost River State Park is the second most difficult swing to access, it requires slightly more than a 2 mile hike (don't let the nice lady at the gift shop tell you it's a little over a mile, LIES!). The path gets extremely narrow throughout the hike and is definitely challenging, my husband and I were not prepared whatsoever, we began rationing our 1 bottle of water and making jokes along the way thinking we would never make it. We even stumbled upon a bundle of firewood and said "Well, this is where we should make camp for the night." When arriving to Lost River State Park, we had no clue where to go and stopped in the gift shop to ask for directions and were provided a map and told where to park and which trail to hike to get to the top of the mountain where the swing was located. You will need to drive to the horse stables and park along the road and follow the White Oak Trail to Cranny Crow Overlook. As we made the 2 mile hike, my husband and I were baffled by how they even got a swing up there to begin with! I would recommend wearing your hiking shoes, pack a snack and bring bottles of water. Unexpectedly, we found a delicious AUTHENTIC Italian restaurant Gennaro's, absolutely delicious and the owners are speaking italian the entire time you are there. I recommend the bolognese!

Thank you, this was my 70 yr old mother and mine next day trip. I don’t think neither of us can do a 2 mile hike. Might just have to try to talk her out if this one also like I had to the Hatfield & McCoy one that someone quoted us $300 to take us up to.
